Composting Critters To Dig Into Reading

Kids get the chance to play with worms at the library on Aug. 9.

The Environmental Educators with Pierce County Public Works will be making a mess with worms!

Kids ages 5-12 will get to know some of nature’s recyclers and learn how these small animals help our environment. Join the Environmental Educators as they dig into worm composting bins at the library at 3 p.m., Aug. 9.

This FREE special library event is part of the “Dig Into Reading!” summer reading program for children. Designed to keep young people reading during the long hot days of summer, the summer reading program at the Puyallup Public Library offers fun incentives to help children maintain their reading skills. All children who spend time reading, listening to an audio book, or being read to, can enter drawings for great prizes. Plus, every child who reads (or is read to) at least 10 hours this summer will get a FREE book and a ticket to Northwest Trek/Pt. Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, as well as free goodies at local retailers.
