Join Puyallup Library for Free Comic Book Day This Saturday

Free Comic Book Day returns to the Puyallup Public Library on May 4, 2013! 

 As the name implies, this is a day when comic book stores and libraries around the world give away comics to people of all ages. The will be handing out comic books at the front of the library on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. (as supplies last).

Treat your inner comic book guy to superheroes, including The Avengers or Superman, classic comics such as The Walking Dead, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, or Sonic the Hedgehog, or try a new series like Adventure Time or Steam Engines of Oz, just to name a few.

Because this year’s Free Comic Book Day falls on May 4th, the Library will also celebrate Star Wars Day: May the 4th Be With You!

Astromech builder Cole Horton and his R2 unit, R2-M5, a droid in the Royal Naboo Security Force, will be at the library from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Horton will lead a presentation from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. on building astromechs; if you’ve ever dreamed of building your own R2 unit, make sure to attend this free event! Take a picture with R2-M5 and ask questions about what it takes to build a droid. Throughout the day, we’ll also have a variety of Star Wars crafts for all ages, including Star Wars origami and paper bag puppets.
