Puyallup Library Centennial Celebrated with Special Reading Challenge

In honor of the Puyallup Library's 100th anniversary, Mayor Rick Hansen has challenged citizens to read 100 books this year. Are you up to the task?

There was much to celebrate at the Puyallup Library’s 100th anniversary party on Feb. 12, and it could have just been left at that. But to raise the bar and encourage reading, Mayor Rick Hansen issued a challenge: read 100 books this year.

“2013 is the year of the library,” said Hansen.

Victors of the 100 Book Challenge will receive a special book club T-shirt and library card. They will also get an invitation to a 100 Book Club Member Recognition Reception and will be entered into a drawing for special prizes, including a romantic getaway package to Tayberry Cottage Bed and Breakfast, a free massage from Harmony Health and other prizes.
