Kids Activities, New Vendors, Anvil and Forge and more!

Well it just keeps getting busier at the market.  The harvest season is upon us so we have wonderful fresh fruit and vegetables for you as well as farm fresh eggs and poultry, wine, plants, flowers, and so much more.

This week we will have guests from Pierce County Library offering childrens' stories at 4 pm- be sure to let the kids take advantage of this opportunity.   After the stories, the Daffodil Princess will be at the market and folks can get a picture with her and learn about the new parade coming up to honor our men and women in the military.

Blacksmith Chris Butenko will bring his mobile forge and anvil to the market and show us how he works metal into horse shoes and pieces of art.  So many enjoyed this learning experience before that he is back by popular demand!

We have more new vendors this week- including Windy Acre Farm- a young man getting into farming- he raises sheep and chickens on the plateau.  Come say hello to him and perhaps meet a few of his chickens.

One comment we always get at this market is that we are such a friendly bunch- but of course- it's a very small, friendly, rural town  and we have such a magnificent view of Mount Rainier and we are right on the Foothills Trail- we  can't help but be happy here!   You must come and start off your weekend with us this Friday- 3-7 pm at North Park. (Corner hwy 162/Washington and Calistoga in Orting- just a few minutes South of Puyallup and Sumner).

Lastly- We began our Market Bag program last week and held just a few for this week.     How It Works:   Make a purchase at the market and receive a free, reusable, premier edition (collectable) market bag.  When you return to shop at the market with the bag, you will be eligible for special deals from vendors at the market throughout the season and into next season as well. These are deals for market bag owners only- so it just keeps giving back to you as a thank you for coming.    Be sure to get to the market this Friday as there were only a few of these bag held aside for this week. You will want to be one of the lucky owners!

See you at the market on Friday!
