Crime Stoppers Shares Misty Copsey Video, Hoping for New Evidence in Cold Case

Misty Copsey disappeared from the Puyallup Fair 20 years ago and is featured in a new short documentary on Pierce County Crime Stoppers.

On Sept. 17 1992, Misty Copsey disappeared.

The 14-year-old girl had spent the day at the Puyallup Fair and missed her bus home. She called her mom that night to say she was on her way home but never returned.

Over the years, Puyallup Police have followed many leads and her disappearance is still considered an active case, with her mom Diana Smith, continuing the search for her daughter. In 1993, a pair of girls jeans and underwear were found in a ditch on SR 410. Gary Ridgway and many others have emerged as suspects.
