Neverending Backups in Puyallup, Thanks to Busted Street Light

A traffic light damaged & hanging by the wires at South Meridian & SR 512 is causing major backups around Puyallup, continuing through the evening commute.

We the evening commute starting traffic is backing up fast on S Meridian. Now backed up to City Hall downtown. Alt Route Advised.

S Meridian still down to 1 lane @ SR 512 & still no access to E/B SR 512 from S Meridian. Back up now is approx 5-6 blocks.

UPDATE 10 a.m.
Traffic control is in place and the ramp from eastbound SR 512 to Meridian should now be reopened to traffic.

ORIGINAL STORY
A traffic light damaged & hanging by the wires at South Meridian & SR 512 is causing major backups around Puyallup this morning.

The crash scene is bottom of S Meridian hill by the fairgrounds.

According to Puyallup Police, the eastbound offramp from SR 512 to S Meridian will open but with no access to northbound S. Meridian. S Meridian has only one southbound lane open at SR 512.

Also, the eastbound SR 512 onramp from southbound on S Meridian will be closed. The eastbound SR 512 onramp will only be accessible from northbound on S Meridian.

The driver in the crash was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
