Man Hit by Car While Crossing 5th Street in Puyallup

A 77-year-old man was hit by a car after he was leaving the Puyallup Eagles Club on Friday night.

A Pierce County man was transported to Tacoma General Trauma Center after he was struck by a car in Puyallup on Friday, Oct. 12.

Puyallup Patrol Officers were dispatched to the report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the 300 block of Fifth Street NW at 9:36 p.m.

The 77-year-old Pierce County resident was crossing the street after leaving the Puyallup Eagles Club, located at 202 Fifth St. NW, when he was struck by a southbound vehicle, according to Puyallup Police Department.

The male suffered traumatic injuries from the collision.

The 58-year-old male driver from Pierce County was not injured in the collision.

Puyallup Major Collision Response Team responded to conduct the collision investigation. The driver of the vehicle was not determined to be driving while impaired.

The roadway was closed for approximately 2 hours while police investigated the incident.
