Man Sues Puyallup Mexican Restaurant for Son’s Death

A local father filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against Puyallup's Mis Tres Amigos, claiming wrongful death after his son Patrick Lee, 22, hit his head during an after-hours party at the restaurant.

The father of a man who died after a party at Puyallup’s Mis Tres Amigos in 2010 has filed a lawsuit against the restaurant citing wrongful death, according to the Tacoma News Tribune.

David Lee’s attorneys filed the suit this month and the damages have not been specified. Mis Tres Amigos is a locally-owned Mexican restaurant, with another location in Lakewood.

Lee’s son Patrick, 22, died after attending an after-hours party at the Puyallup location in Nov. 2010, hosted by the restaurant’s general manager, according to documents obtained by the TNT.

During that evening, Patrick became intoxicated on marijuana and alcohol, hit his head and was left in a booth. He was found unresponsive the next morning and the restaurant manager and a friend dropped the man off at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was eventually declared brain dead and removed off life support due to the head injury.

Lee’s attorney argues that the restaurant broke the law by over-serving the 22-year-old at an after-hours party and was negligent when they didn’t seek medical attention for the man.
