Police Detonate Sparkler Bomb at DeCoursey Park

The Pierce County Bomb Squad responded to DeCoursey Park on Sunday, April 21 for reports of a sparkler bomb.

The Pierce County Bomb Squad denoated a sparkler bomb at DeCoursey Park on Sunday afternoon, the latest in a series of explosions reported in the area.

According to the Puyallup Police report, a passerby noticed a sparkler bomb placed on ecology blocks at the corner of 21st St. SW and 23rd Ave. SW, which is where one of the trails lead in DeCoursey Park.

The Bomb Squad responded to the scene and determined that the object was a sparkler bomb, with a fuse that had burnt down to the tape. The object was taken into evidence by the Bomb Squad for further evaluation.Β
