Public Fights, Stolen Vehicles: Puyallup Police Blotter

The following crime information has been supplied by the Puyallup Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

March 9, 2013:

Vehicle Prowl Arrest, Assault: A suspect stole a cell phone from a car while the owner was inside the store and her husband was preoccupied. He ran off, and the husband eventually caught him. The suspect punched the husband in the face but cooperated after “the husband informed him he was a boxer and if he punched him again he would really hurt him.” The phone was never found.

Stolen vehicle arrests: Two people were arrested in the parking lot of Safeway, 611 S. Meridian, when a license plate check showed it was stolen.

Stolen property, shoplifting: Police found numerous stolen items on a man they contacted related to a stolen cell phone. Police said he had computers and car keys from a burglary. On the same day, the same suspect was connected to a shoplifting incident at Safeway, 611 S. Meridian.

Residential burglary: Unknown suspects pried open a rear door and stole half of a pool table and a television from inside a home in the 2300 block of Acadia Court.

Stolen van found: A stolen white 2005 Chevrolet Express van belonging to E&S Customs was found by the ower’s neighbor who saw it in the neighborhood. The business has had several vans stolen recently, one of which was located on Wildwood Park Drive.

Residential burglary: Suspects kicked in the victim’s back door and stole his 46-inch LED TV and cash from a home in the 500 block of Fourth Ave. S.W. The residence has been burglarized previously.

March 9, 2013:

Jail fight: Units responded to a fight in the jail. A review of the video showed the altercation to be a mutual fight with minor injuries.

Shoplifting: Two girls stole about $200 in makeup from JC Penney.

Shoplifting: A 34-year-old man was suspected of stealing about $70 in flashlights from Sportsman’s Warehouse, two days after being released from jail for theft.

Public fights: Police arrested three people outside the Loose Wheel Bar after a physical fight that started between a couple. The woman fought with police and tried to kick out the patrol vehicle windows. A friend tried to help let her out of the police car. The man and woman were arrested for domestic violence and the friend for obstructing police.

Separately, police responded to a report of a fight at the Jack in the Box. A 27-year-old man was punching a 28-year-old man. After acknowledging police, the 27-year-old again assaulted the other man. Police tased and arrested him. Both men were intoxicated.

March 10, 2013

Domestic Violence: A 29-year-old man was arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend after coming home and finding his can of marijuana missing. His wife mistakenly thought it was a soft drink can, and put it in the fridge to keep it cold. He grabbed her, threw her down, and backhanded her across the face during the assault. The man is suspected of growing marijuana in the home.
