Puyallup Blotter: Flasher at Bradley Lake Park, Military-Grade Laser Confiscated from Gun Show

APRIL 24, 2013

Attempted Motor Vehicle Theft, Assault: A man confronted a group of four people inside his car, parked at the River Trail Apartments. They were attempting to steal the car using a spare key. Once startled, all suspects exited the car and one 16 year-old boy brandished a pocket knife and threatened the victim. Three of the four were detained at Daffodil Bowl, ages 16, 17 and 20. They all had their pockets stuffed with numerous items, believed to be from other car prowls. 

APRIL 26, 2013

Indecent Exposure: A woman reported that a man exposed himself to her on the south side of Bradley Lake Park. Another woman reported the same thing almost two hours later and a man was detained and arrested. 

APRIL 28, 2013

Attempted Commercial Burglary: A suspicious vehicle was reported in the Serta Mattress parking lot after 10 p.m. Two suspects were seen attempting to steal old mattresses from inside the fence yard. No suspects were located, but the vehicle was thought to have been used in up to five burglaries in the area and victims have reported attempting to purchase mattresses from a suspicious woman on Craigslist.

Criminal Trespassing: A man and woman were detained after they were found inside an abandoned house on 7th Ave. NE. They said they were there to sleep because they were homeless; the man was arrested because he had been trespassed from that residence in the past. 

DUI Drugs: A 62 year-old woman was arrested after she rear ended a vehicle, causing a 3 car collision on 9th St. SW. She admitted to taking two morphine tablets and showed signs of impairment, but was unable to complete a full drug report due to disabilities.

Theft: A man matching the description of the Zales Jewelry thief from last week stole five men’s rings from Gold Definitions, valuing over $12,000. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 25 to 30 years old, 6 feet tall with brown, collar-length hair. He fled the scene in a black Acura RSX.

Assault: Two women at the WSU Plant Sale spoke with a man about leaving his dog in his car with the windows rolled up on a hot day. He told the two women that “they looked hot” and threw a water can at them, striking one and dousing both. He is described as a white man, about 28 years old, 5 foot 9 inches tall with brown hair. 

DUI: A man was stopped after he was observed weaving in and out of eastbound SR 512. He admitted to drinking at a dance club in Lakewood and his girlfriend was passed out in the passenger seat next to him.

Robbery and Assault: A man reported that he was cutting through an alley on North Meridian when two men punched him and put him in a headlock. The victim lost consciousness. The suspects stole $80 in cash and his cell phone. The males were described as black and possibly driving a Mitsubishi Eclipse with a large spoiler.

Assault, Minor in Consumption: A 16-year-old boy was found huddled in the corner near an apartment on West Meeker, highly intoxicated. He lied about his age and attempted to take a swing at the officer. 

Suspicious Found Property: A man tried to sell a high-end military laser at the Gun Show. He claimed he purchased it at a swap meet. He volunteered to turn it over for safekeeping, as it is presumed stolen.

APRIL 29, 2013

Felony DUI: A driver pulled over for improper lane use turns out to have four prior DUIs to his name. He told police to just arrest him, because he had “nothing left to lose.” Read more on Patch.

DUI, Reckless Endangerment: A driver stopped for a defective tail light was determined to be impaired. She told police she had a Vicodin pill with two beers. She had her 3 year-old child inside the car. Police contacted the child's grandmother.

Theft: A maintenance crew truck at Shaw Road Elementary School was broken into and a leaf blower and lawn trimmer were stolen.

Theft: Scrap metal was stolen from a locked dumpster behind a business on North Levee Road. The metal was unique scrap from manufacturing airline parts, and some pieces were over 15 feet long.

Warrants, Alcohol: Four individuals were arrested in Pioneer Park. Most of them were Freezing Nights guests, with various warrants and alcohol offenses.

APRIL 30, 2013

Burglary: Just before 6 a.m., police responded to a report of a burglary inside an occupied residence. The suspect entered the home and found an occupant on the couch. The suspect stole the man's wallet, but woke him up. It startled the burglar, who fled with the wallet in addition to a guitar and camera.

Burglary: Two East Main businesses were burglarized sometime overnight. Both businesses had their business front doors smashed in and cashboxes and iPods were stolen. 

Trespassing: Officers were dispatched to a vacant house on 27th Ave. SE., a problem area with teen vandals and metal thieves. A 15 year-old and 14 year-old were found in the house. One teen fled after the officer found marijuana but was tracked down a short distance away.

MAY 1, 2013

Alcohol in City Park: An officer on bike patrol came across a man and woman passing a cup back and forth in Pioneer Park. They were cited with alcohol in a public place; both were Freezing Nights guests.

Assault on Teacher: A 12 year-old kicked his teacher in the portables at Sparks Stadium and threatened to murder her. He was extremely belligerent with police throughout the incident.

MAY 2, 2013

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: A man was contacted by police in the street on 4th Ave. NW after a concerned person reported he was lying on his back with his legs partially in the roadway. He had a warrant out for his arrest and a small amount of heroin in his pocket. He told police he partied last night and had fallen asleep where he was found.

DUI Warrant Arrest: A case worker called police to report that a resident of Valley Community Inn on 2nd St. NW was extremely intoxicated and was being disorderly. He was arrested for a WSP DUI warrant.

Trespass: A Bremerton man was contacted outside Aylen Jr. High after school security and the principal noticed him on school grounds for no apparent reason. He had prior burglary convictions and was served with a trespass notification, and given directions to the train station.
