Complaints regarding Goodguys Car Show: Multiple downtown businesses complained to police that there were parking issues with the Good Guys Car Show, causing overcrowding issues in the Safeway parking lot. The noise from revving engines, classic cars and increased foot traffic made downtown much like a “Fair Saturday” for several blocks on S. Meridian. Many infractions were issued for squealing tires and other violations.

Vehicle Prowl: An unlocked truck was prowled on 23rd St. SW and a work bag was stolen, as was a black hoodie with the name “J Woo” embroidered on it.

Alleged Strongarm Robbery: A man visiting from Alaska stopped at the Loose Wheel for food, and a woman confronted him in the parking lot, stealing over $400 in cash, he reported. The victim was over 6 feet tall and said the slight female threatened to call the police and say he raped her, so he backed off and let her have his wallet. The victim then called police to say the woman was now calling his wife and threatening her. Police located the woman, but the alleged victim decided to decline prosecution. Seems to be more to this story than reported.

Shoplifting: A man was arrested at Walmart for shoplifting, after he helped himself to various food and clothing items. Fire Alarm: A fire alarm went off at City Hall just after 2:30 a.m. Police and fire checked the area and nothing was found. However, the alarm wouldn’t turn off, so officers called everyone on the city employee phone tree, but to no avail. The alarm blared for several hours while dispatch attempted to contact City Hall personnel. The alarm company also tried resetting the alarm with no luck. Police requested the emergency phone list at City Hall to be updated.
