“It was a very tense moment in front of the house,” McDonald told KIRO-TV. “Our officers get here. We surround the place and the dispatch tells us that he has put the gun down and he’s coming out.”

Inside, they found a man and woman shot in different rooms of the house. Both had been shot in the head.

They also found two boys, ages 6 and 7, unhurt. The boys are the sons of the male shooting victim and lived at the home with their father and grandparents. The suspect’s wife was also at the home unhurt. The boys were taken into protective custody.

The woman, whom KIRO reported was 43 years old, died Sunday morning at Tacoma General Hospital. The man is 46, the station reported.

Police had been to the home before. Several people who live in the home had restraining orders against each other, KING 5 reported.

"Family disputes between the brother and sister, the parents and son, the parents and the daughter, some of the grandchildren of the shooting victims over the last several years,” McDonald told the station.

The suspect was booked into the Pierce County jail on murder and attempted murder charges.
