Puyallup Police: Ring "Grab and Run" at Mall Jewelry Store, Attempted Stolen Vehicle Found in Fence Hole

The following arrest and crime information for April 4-8, 2013 has been supplied by the Puyallup Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

APRIL 4, 2013

Theft from Vehicle: A man’s car was prowled outside Walgreen’s. He left his doors unlocked. A computer bag with a laptop and electronics were stolen. The suspect is described as a 20-30 year-old male with a shaved head, goatee, wearing a red/black jacket and white athletic shoes.

Residential Burglary: A resident at Meridian Assisted Living reported that her wedding rings were stolen from a drawer, which was forced open.

Vehicle Prowl: A car owner found an unknown man sleeping in his car on 3rd St. SE. The male had attempted to steal a GPS and CD player but fled the scene.

ID Theft: A man attempted to cash a counterfeit check at Valley Bank, and when the bank attempted to verify it he fled the scene on foot.

Vehicle Prowl: A white/yellow Cab Cadet riding mower was stolen from a truck parked on N. Meridian.

APRIL 5, 2013

Stolen License Plate: The rear and front plates of a vehicle were stolen from the Sounder Station parking lot.

Vehicle Prowl: A vehicle was prowled in front of Dick’s Sporting Goods. A window was shattered and perfume was stolen.

Attempted Vehicle Prowl: A window of a car was shattered while parked in front of Black Angus restaurant, nothing was stolen.

Vehicle Prowl: A car was prowled outside J.C. Penney’s and a backpack was stolen.

Shoplifting: A man stole a $2,000 ring from Kay Jewelers in the South Hill Mall. He is described as having spiky brown hair and acne; he is suspected to be behind a similar incident at Zales Jewelry.

APRIL 5, 2013

Missing Person: Puyallup Police with the help of surrounding agencies helped locate a missing 71 year-old man. Read more on Puyallup Patch.

Theft: Four new tires were stolen by a white male and white female in a brown Jeep Cherokee outside a River Road car dealership.

Warrant: An officer contacted a suspicious person on S. Meridian and he had stolen credit cards in his possession, in connection to a recent car prowl.

Burglary: A homeowner on 19th Ave. SW arrived home to find his rear door kicked in and a box of costume jewelry was stolen.

APRIL 6, 2013

Assault: A 28 year-old woman living in Canada suspected her Puyallup boyfriend of cheating on her. She drove to Puyallup in the middle of the night and found him to be with his ex-girlfriend. She entered his home without permission and went after the other woman, and the boyfriend had to physically remove her. She drove back to Canada and filed an assault report, showing photos of her injuries. A Puyallup investigation submitted to the prosecutor shows her to be the perpetrator.

Burglary/Attempted Motor Vehicle Prowl: Unknown suspects cut the fence to a mining company on Valley Ave. NE, damaged the ignition to the owner’s truck and ran it through the fence hole, but no further.

Burglary: Unknown suspects pried open the door to a detached garage on 14th St. SW and stole the owner’s $2500 generator. The house has been vacant and under remodel.

APRIL 7, 2013

Burglary/Vehicle Prowl: Unknown suspects broke into the Comcast building on Valley Ave. NW and prowled several of the company vehicles. 

APRIL 8, 2013

Residential Burglary: French doors of a home on 31st Ave. SE were kicked in, and some old coins and jewelry were taken. The perpetrator wears a size 11 shoe, according to detectives.

Residential Burglary: Unknown person(s) removed the padlock to a garage on W. Pioneer and stole several work tools.

Vehicle Prowl: Unknown suspects broke into a vehicle at Pierce College and stole a wallet. 

Shoplifting: A man was arrested at Sportsman’s Wearhouse for attempting to steal a $100 Leatherman. He also had a theft warrant out for his arrest.
