Puyallup Police Vehicles Hit by Suspect High on Drugs

A woman was taken into custody and a Puyallup Police officer sustained minor injuries in several criminal collisions this morning.


On Saturday, Sept. 28, a Puyallup Police officer was hit in his official vehicle during a run-in with a woman high on drugs, according to the police department. 

Police responded to the 2800 block of 6th St. SE for a domestic dispute at approximately 9:15 am on Saturday morning.  

The female reportee stated that her 18 year old daughter was under the influence of narcotics and was assaulting her. The suspect left the scene in a vehicle prior to police arrival.

At approximately 9:23 am a Puyallup Police Officer located the vehicle in the 3100 block of 5th St. SE, and attempted to stop the suspect.

The suspect failed to yield and continued driving recklessly, attempting to evade officers.

The suspect struck an uninvolved person’s vehicle in the 400 block of 35th Ave. SE. The suspect then struck a PPD vehicle head on in the YMCA parking lot in the 400 block of 43rd Ave SE, deploying the PPD vehicle’s air bags.

The suspect vehicle was able to flee the collision scene and collided with another Puyallup PD officer’s vehicle in the 4700 block of South Meridian. The suspect eventually collided with a large sign in the 300 block of 43rd Ave. SE. disabling her vehicle.

She was taken into custody at that time.

Three Puyallup PD vehicles were damaged during the call and one PPD officer sustained minor injuries. One of the vehicles sustained major damage and the other two sustained minor damage.

The officer was treated at the scene and released. The suspect received minor injuries from the collision. The uninvolved person did not sustain any injuries.

43rd Ave .SE will be closed between South Meridian and the 300 block of 43rd Ave. SE during the investigation.

The suspect will be booked for two counts of 2nd degree assault, along with domestic violence assault 4th degree.

The Puyallup Police Department’s Major Collision Response Team is investigating the collisions.
