Puyallup's Shop With a Cop Makes the Holidays a Little Brighter for Local Kids

The Puyallup Police Department, the Puyallup School District and Trackside Pizza, Fred Meyer and Walmart helped make the holidays brighter for nine local kids in need yesterday with the annual Shop With a Cop program.

The Puyallup Police Department, in cooperation with the Puyallup School District, celebrated the 2012 Shop With a Cop program yesterday in town.

Officers from the Puyallup Police Department took children from nine Puyallup elementary schools to local stores where the students could buy brand new holiday gifts. This year, program sponsors are Wal-Mart, Fred Meyer, and Trackside Pizza. Officers who volunteer to help with the program also routinely help buy gifts for the children.

The event kicked off with lunch at Trackside Pizza in downtown Puyallup at 11:30 a.m., then the children headed to Fred Meyer and finally to Wal-Mart.
