Man Arrested for Fourth DUI in Puyallup, Drunk Driver Found Cuddling Bottle of Liquor at Intersection

Two DUI arrests in Puyallup last night were hopefully wake-up calls for the severely intoxicated offenders.

For one, last night's arrest led to a fourth DUI conviction.

According to the Puyallup Police report, witnesses reported the highly intoxicated man leaving the Cheers bar parking lot on South Meridian "with difficulty." The 37 year-old driver was pulled over by police for other moving violations some distance away from the bar and was determined to have a blood-alcohol level that was almost three times the legal limit.

This will be the man's fourth DUI conviction. He was also cited for not having the required breathalyzer interlock device in his vehicle.

In the same night, another driver was arrested for DUI after he was found passed out with his car running in the middle of the intersection on North Levee Road at North Meridian. He had a bottle of R&R liquor in his lap and his blood-alcohol level was over double the legal limit.
