About halfway through filings week in Pierce County, candidates for the Puyallup City Council are starting to emerge.

About halfway through candidate filings week in Pierce County, members of the Puyallup City Council have made their intentions to run for reelection official, with a few planning commissioners putting their hats in the ring, too.

Here is a list of official candidates for open offices in Puyallup, thus far. The deadline to file for candidacy is Friday, May 17, 2013.

Puyallup City Council Dist. 1, Pos. 2 (Nonpartisan Office, 4-year term)

  • John Hopkins (incumbent)
Puyallup City Council Dist. 2, Pos. 2 (Nonpartisan Office, 4-year term). Currently held by Mayor Rick Hansen.
  • Steve Hastings (Puyallup Planning Commission)
  • Heather Shadko (Puyallup Planning Commission)
Puyallup City Council Dist. 3, Pos. 2 (Nonpartisan Office, 4-year term). Currently held by Kent Boyle.
  • Chris McNutt (Puyallup Planning Commission)
Puyallup Municipal Court Judge Nonpartisan Office 4-year short and full term
  • Andrea Beall (incumbent)
