Report: Ex-Puyallup Mayor Gets Nod Toward PDC, Despite Local Objections

Current Mayor Rick Hansen and Deputy Mayor John Knutsen wrote emails opposing the appointment of former Mayor Kathy Turner, Crosscut..com reports.

Despite opposition from Puyallup elected officials, former Puyallup Mayor Kathy Turner got the full support of a Senate committee in a vote on her appointment to the state Public Disclosure Committee, according to Crosscut.com’s John Stang, via the Tacoma News Tribune.

According to Stang, Turner got a 6-0 vote, along with former Bellevue Mayor Grant Degginger, that they be appointed to the committee. The full Senate will make the final decision.

Puyallup’s Mayor Rick Hansen and Deputy Mayor John Knutsen had emailed Senate Government Operations Committee chairwoman Pam Roach with their criticism of Turner.
