Puyallup PD Announces Citizens' Academy

The Puyallup Police Department will host a 12 week, 14 session Citizens' Academy starting Oct 2nd. The course is offered to residents and those working in the City of Puyallup, at least 18 years of age or older. All applicants are required to have a background check before being admitted to the class.
The program will teach citizens about the operations and special units of the Puyallup Police Department.  Classes will provide an overview of the PPD to include Patrol, K-9, Investigations, CSI, SWAT, Corrections, Courts and other topics. Students will have an opportunity to do interactive activities to include a ride along with a police officer, driving a patrol car and participate in a shoot/don't shoot scenarios.
