Fundraising 5K to Support Jacoby Miles Slated for Feb. 18

The event will take place at Rogers High School.

The Tacoma News Tribune reports that organizers have announced the first ever 5K run to raise funds for 15-year-old Jacoby Miles, a Puyallup gymnast who suffered a devastating fall during a routine move at Roach Gymnastics in Sumner last November that left her paralyzed from the mid-chest down.

Miles was released from the hospital just before Christmas following a tremendous public outpouring of support.

The entry fee to participate is $25 if you sign up in advance, and $30 for day-of registration. It begins at 9 a.m. at the Rogers High School track. For more information or to register, visit www.databarevents.com/runforjacoby.asp.
