Ski Report: Winter, We Hardly Knew Ye

It's shaping up to be another sunny weekend on the slopes at Western Washington's various ski resorts.

Although the skies will be dry, the snow that fell on most areas earlier this week should make the groomed runs nice and smooth. If you head up to the mountain, don't forget your sunblock and camera!

Summit at Snoqualmie: Summit received a few inches of snow over the last 24 hours and is currently reporting sunny and dry conditions. The forecast calls for the sun to continue into the weekend, with a high of 33 on Saturday and a balmy 40 degrees on Sunday. Snow depths are 71 inches at the base of Summit West and 147 inches at the top of Alpental. (Complete forecast here.)  

Crystal Mountain: Crystal is reporting seven inches of fresh snow in the past 48 hours, making the groomed runs nice and smooth. Sunny skies expected Saturday and Sunday. High temperatures will be in the upper-20s to low-30s. Winds around 15 mph expected both days. (Complete forecast here.)

Stevens Pass: Stevens Pass says it's received 5 inches of fresh in the past two days. As with other areas, the resort will see mostly sunny weather with some light wind throughout the weekend. High tempertatures in the low- to mid-30s. (Complete forecast here.)

Mt. Baker Ski Area: Two feet of snow have been reported at Mt. Baker since Tuesday. Sun, sun and more sun for the weekend, with high temps in the lower- to mid-30s. The Legendary Banked Slalom pro snowboard competition takes place this weekend, with live music, beer gardens and a salmon bake set for Saturday. (Complete forecast here.)

White Pass Ski Area: White Pass says it all on its website: "CLEAR, CALM, COLD, CORDUROY. Any questions?" Most of that will stay true throughout the weekend, although temperatures will warm up a bit. Partly sunny skies Saturday and mostly sunny weather Sunday. Light winds and high temperatures in the mid- to upper-30s. (Complete forecast here.)

Mission Ridge: Sunny and dry. High temperatures in the mid- to upper-30s. Light winds both days. Mission Ridge is offering a family four-pack of lift tickets for $109 on Sunday. (Complete forecast here.)
