Photo Contest Deadlines Announced for State Fair

Two different contests seek your best images.

NW Int’l & Washington State Photo Contest Deadlines Released for Washington State Fair

Puyallup, WA – July 8, 2013 – Amazing photography from every corner of the globe will be on display at the 2013 Washington State Fair, and photographers are encouraged to enter their finest pieces. The 73rd Northwest International Exhibition of Photography competition draws entries from around the world, while the 7th Annual Washington State Photographers Exhibition is exclusive for residents in the state. Washington residents may enter both contests, but not the same images in both contests. The Washington State Fair runs Sept. 6-22, 2013.

73rd Northwest International Exhibition of Photography

Register online by Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, by 10 p.m. (PST)

Entry packages due by Tuesday, August 6, 2013 by 3 p.m. 

This contest is recognized by the Photographic Society of America (PSA), and has been held since 1937 (four years out for World War II). Recognition includes a total of 10 PSA medals, four Special Fair Medals for Originality, and four divisions for Special Awards Ribbons.  Judges’ Choice Citations will be awarded to twelve outstanding images/prints in each division, and 16 Honorable Mention Citations.

§  Pictorial Print - Large Color Print Division

§  Pictorial Print - Small Monochrome Print Division

§  Pictorial Print - Small Color Print Division

§  Pictorial Print - Photo Journalism Print Division

§  Digital Images – PID Color

§  Digital Images - Nature

§  Digital Images - Authentic Wildlife

§  Digital Images - Photo Travel 

 

7th Annual Washington State Photographers Exhibition

Register online by Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013, by 10 p.m. (PST)

Entry packages due by Monday, August 5, 2013 by noon 

Each Washington state photographer, 16 years and older, may submit a maximum of four unmounted prints, ranging from 8” x 10” to 16” x 20”. Images previously accepted for exhibition at the Washington State Fair are not eligible for entry again. The seven categories include:

·       Nature and Landscape

·       People

·       Places and Travel

·       Animals

·       Around Washington

·       Carnivals and Fairs

·       Elements of Design

·       General 

The Washington State Fair is one of the biggest fairs in the world, and the largest in the Pacific Northwest. It started in 1900 in Puyallup, and welcomes over one million guests to the single largest attended event in the state.
